DOORS
- We now stock over 500 reclaimed doors from most periods. In addition, we stock a range of accurate copies of original Georgian, Victorian and twentieth century doors of various sizes.
- One of our most popular doors is a simple made to measure ledged door, which we dip in our stripping tank to give it the authentic colour. We also stock hand made Thinges and 'Suffolk latches' of the period.
- If you are looking for oak doors we keep a range of framed, ledged and braced and traditional ledged and braced as well as panelled doors.
- All doors are sold stripped and unfinished but a preparation and waxing service is available if required.
DOOR FURNITURE
- We keep in stock original nineteenth and twentieth century rim locks, handles, T hinges and Suffolk latches and we now also have a complete range of reproduction door furniture to suit all our range.
DOOR AND FURNITURE STRIPPING
- Most stripping is carried out the day after it is received - please allow three or four days for drying. A local delivery service is available.
- The stripping process we use is a hot caustic soda dip; this has the advantage of relatively short immersion times. Some people worry about having their doors dipped, if this is the case we normally suggest you come along and look at the hundreds of stripped doors we keep in stock and be reassured
- When having doors stripped we would ask you to take off any locks, handles, hooks fingerplates etc. Hinges and thumb latches may be left on.
